Independent Judging

KCS judges are expected to judge independently, professionally, and in good faith based on the battle, prelim, or judging assignment in front of them.

Judges may not discuss scores before submitting where the judging format requires independent cards.

Conflicts of Interest

Judges should disclose major conflicts of interest, close relationships, financial interests, coaching relationships, retaliation concerns, or other issues that could reasonably call judging independence into question.

KCS may reassign, remove, replace, review, or restrict a judge when needed to protect event integrity.

Zero Tolerance

  • Score manipulation.
  • Judges changing scores because of pressure.
  • Judges discussing scores before submitting.
  • Judging while under the influence.
  • Intentional favoritism.
  • Personal retaliation.
  • Admins changing results without an audit trail.
