Code of Conduct & Participant Safety

KCS standards for safety, professionalism, respect, event conduct, reporting, enforcement, and immediate action when needed.

Version 1.0Last Updated May 24, 2026

Expected Conduct

KCS expects dancers, judges, hosts, DJs, commentators, staff, media personnel, vendors, volunteers, sponsors, partners, spectators, and online users to act professionally and respect the safety and dignity of others.

KCS events are built around battle energy, culture, competition, and expression, but that does not excuse harassment, threats, unsafe conduct, retaliation, discrimination, exploitation, or conduct that undermines event safety or integrity.

Prohibited Conduct

  • Harassment, intimidation, threats, stalking, or retaliation.
  • Unsafe physical contact, violence, or credible threats of violence.
  • Discrimination, exploitation, sexual harassment, or boundary violations.
  • Interference with judges, staff, scoring, event operations, media, or security.
  • Possession or use of prohibited items, drugs, alcohol misuse, or judging/working while under the influence.
  • Misuse of credentials, backstage access, media access, or KCS platforms.

Enforcement

KCS may determine consequences in its reasonable discretion based on available information.

Possible actions may include warning, restricted access, removal from an event, suspension, disqualification, credential revocation, platform restriction, event ban, payment hold to the extent permitted by applicable law and any written agreement, or referral to venue security, emergency services, law enforcement, or child-protection authorities when appropriate.

Reporting

Safety and conduct concerns should be submitted through the KCS Report a Concern form.

If there is an immediate safety emergency, contact venue security, local emergency services, or law enforcement first.
